Product Description
The "Titanium" 15-inch PowerBooks feature PowerPC 74xx G4 processors (ranging from 7410 to 7455), and are in good demand due to their ability to "dual-boot," (start-up into either OS 9 or OS X). Accordingly, they are often a better choice of a pre-owned 15-inch laptop for those users needing to run certain OS 9 applications.
The titanium covering is also appreciated by many people who prefer the look and feel over aluminum. Titanium is actually a more expensive alloy, so to some extent Apple moved to aluminum as a cost-saving measure, something that doesn't impact the current aftermarket (i.e. you get the more expensive Titanium for free as it were, all other issues being equal). Many people also prefer the keyboard on the Titanium.
